The text, adopted Sunday at a special session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO), also calls on all parties to comply with their obligations under international law.
Since October 7, the UN agency has verified more than 449 attacks on health care in Gaza and the West Bank and 60 attacks on health care in Israel.
It is the first time since that date that a resolution on this conflict has been adopted by consensus in the UN system, the WHO said, stressing the importance of health as a universal priority in all circumstances and the role of health and humanitarian care in building bridges to peace.
The resolution calls for ” an immediate, sustained and unimpeded passage of humanitarian aid, including access for medical personnel, and reaffirms that all parties to armed conflict must fully comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law for the protection of civilians and medical personnel.
