The program will be presented at three coordinated events in Geneva, Addis Ababa,Ethiopia, and Doha, Qatar, by OCHA representatives.
The program includes inter-agency plans to respond to crises and a summary of the financing needed to implement them over the next year.
The events address global awareness of pressing humanitarian needs and support system-wide resource mobilization efforts.
The theme of the call for this year is “Transforming humanitarian action: people at the center, reflecting the commitment to greater inclusion and effectiveness.”
Presentations will include the latest humanitarian trends, analysis, challenges and opportunities and will provide an overview of inter-agency plans for humanitarian response in 2024.
Last week, the agency confirmed the donation of $419 million to the Central Emergency Action Fund, considered a lifeline in urgent and underfunded crises.
However, the UN insists on the need to expand its funds in the face of increasing conflicts, hunger, disease, and displacement that cause humanitarian disasters around the world.
