The Ministry of Transport urged to investigate the failure that since Sunday night paralyzed areas of the country and affected vital services such as the capital’s airport and the activity in this capital, transport hub that connects East Africa with Asia, Europe and other parts of the world.
We have sent a formal request to the National Police to investigate possible acts of sabotage and cover-up, Transport Minister Kipchumba Murkomen told the press after a visit to the capital’s airport.
In contrast, the management of the state electricity company assured in a statement that the failure was due to an interruption in the system and that ‘the problem is being attended to by technicians’.
Later it issued a second one in which it assured that ‘the service has been reestablished in some areas of the country’, without specifying which ones.
