The exercise will last until December 21st, and aims to foster collaborative partnership, promote interoperability and share best practices under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter on Peacekeeping Operations.

Forty-five troops will participate on the Indian side, of which 39 belong to the Bengal Engineer Group regiment and six are from the Army Medical Corps, the Indian Ministry of Defense reported.

The Vinbax maneuvers are an annual training event held alternately in India and Vietnam. The third such exercise took place at the Chandimandir military station in August 2022.

The maneuvers begin this Monday with command post exercises and field training, focusing on the deployment and employment of a company of engineers and a medical team, the official note stated.

According to the Indian Ministry of Defense, the maneuver will encourage the exchange of ideas. Both contingents will jointly rehearse tactics, techniques and procedures.

They will also exchange ideas on modern methods of constructing roads, culverts, helipads, ammunition shelters and observation posts in operational areas, and conduct exercises related to combat engineering and medical tasks in war scenarios.

Both sides will carry out technical military operations according to scenarios similar to the global deployment of United Nations contingents.

The joint exercise will help promote understanding and interoperability between the two contingents and will further strengthen defense cooperation between friendly armies, the official source said.
