Maneuvers for impeaching President Biden, a prominent issue in U.S.

Biden1
Washington, Dec 9 (Prensa Latina) GOP maneuvers to push for impeaching President Joe Biden and the unstoppable armed violence in the country stood out in news agenda.

The House Republican Party on Thursday released a resolution formalizing its months-long investigation into Joe Biden, which they will vote on coming days.

The motion comes months after former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced in September – without first putting it to a vote – that an impeachment inquiry into Biden was underway.

“This baseless stunt is not rooted in fact or reality, but in the blatant desire of extremist House Republicans to abuse their power to smear President Biden,” Ian Sams, White House impeachment oversight and investigations spokesman, said in a statement.

In addition to this, on Thursday all news outlets echoed the filing of a second criminal case against Hunter Biden, the president’s son, which puts him back in the public eye.

The charges include nine crimes, among which are failure to file and pay taxes, and false or fraudulent tax returns.

In an interview published on Friday, Hunter Biden warned that GOPers are trying to “kill him,” and suggested that they intend to drive him to a relapse into substance abuse as part of an effort to damage his father’s presidency.

“They are trying, in the most illegitimate (…) but rational way, to destroy a presidency,” Hunter stressed.

He noted that they (Republicans) seek to kill him “knowing that it will be more pain than my father could bear,” he declared.

Another issue of impact was Wednesday’s shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, which left three dead.

The shooting was attributed to a 67-year-old university professor, who was killed in a confrontation with police at the scene.

This tragedy was the 80th to take place in a school so far this year, 29 of which occurred in institutions of higher education.

Coincidentally, in the context of the shock of the sad event, television broadcast live the sentencing hearing of Ethan Crumbley, the young American who shot dead four classmates at a Michigan high school on November 30, 2021.
