“We really thank the stepped-up efforts by President Lula allowing Brazil´s Congress to pass the Protocol of Accession of the Plurinational State of Bolivia as MERCOSUR full member,” President Arce posted on X.

At the end of November, the plenary session of the Brazilian Senate endorsed the Protocol of Accession of Bolivia to MERCOSUR and sent it to the Brazilian Government for its promulgation, thus completing the process of full inclusion by reaffirming the four countries members.

Referring to this issue, Bolivian Deputy Foreign Trade Minister Benjamin Blanco assured that the Plurinational State stands out as the point of convergence between the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR).

“(…) It will become the only nation member of these two main integration blocs in South America, such as the Andean Community and MERCOSUR; in its strategic position, in the heart of the continent (…)”,the deputy minister asserted.
