The former director of the Directorate of War Materials –DIMABEL, and one of the targets of the regional Dakovo raid, presented himself to the Anti-Kidnapping Department of the National Police in the northern Concepcion region on Wednesday, the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD) reported.
Orue, who the Prosecutor’s Office now charged with the purchase abroad of tens of thousands of military hardware allocated for regional commerce, was appointed as interim head of the DIMABEL in 2018 by then President Mario Abdo Benitez, and charged in 2019 for forgery of public documents.
In total, there have been so far 13 senior officials arrested within the Dakovo operation launched on Tuesday against international arms trafficking, according to the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD). mh/omr/jha/apb
