The forum will be held during this day and the following one, and will start with a lecture by the museum’s director, Jorge Fernandez.
On Dec. 8, Roberto Cobas, curator of the collections Surgimiento del Arte Moderno (1927-1938) and Consolidación del Arte Moderno (1938-1951), will open the event.
Some 20 papers will be the focus of the panels that, in addition to dealing with institutional collecting and scientific work with the collections, will deal with educational mediation in museums.
The speakers will talk about approaches to new platforms and their communicational experiences for these art venues and their thesauri (an expression referring to a list of terms that represent concepts, also related to librarianship and information sciences).
During the two days of the colloquium, specialists from the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana, the University of the Arts, the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana, the National Museum of Decorative Arts, as well as the National Registry of Cultural Goods, will present their recent studies.
