With some thirty works to be presented, this country -as every year a strong contender-will compete this time in several genres, including feature, medium and short fiction films, documentaries, animation, opera prima and screenplay.
The poster competition will also be represented by this nation, as well as Latin America in perspective.
With five fiction feature films and four short and medium-length films, including co-productions with several countries from different geographical regions, Argentina arrived at this event with a representation of prestigious filmmakers.
Under the slogan “Luz verde ¡acción!”, the official selection of this year’s event is made up of 199 films from 19 countries.
The Havana International Festival of New Latin American Cinema will take place from December 8 to 17 and will include several tributes, such as the one to the Cuban film “Fresa y Chocolate” for the 30th anniversary of its premiere, as well as to Cuban director Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, French director Max Linder and Spanish director Luis Buñuel.
