Russia to pay special attention to BRICS’ association, Putin said

Moscow, Dec 6 (Prensa Latina) President Vladimir Putin emphasized that in 2024, special attention will be paid to the BRICS association after receiving the credentials of the new ambassadors accredited to this country, TVBrics reported on Wednesday.

During his speech at the ceremony, Putin stressed that this country leading the BRICS Group, which comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, will do everything possible to help new members of the association to join that organization..

“In general, we intend to contribute in every possible way to enhancing the association’s role in addressing current issues on the global agenda making efforts to strengthen a comprehensive strategic partnership within the BRICS framework, besides expanding cooperation in economic, financial, and other spheres.” the president said.

He added that Moscow will work actively to increase the role of BRICS in addressing pressing global issues.

Putin recalled that a significant event will be the preparations for the BRICS Summit to be held in Kazan in October 2024 with a new, expanded composition. The BRICS Sports Games will be organized in Kazan in the summer.

During the event, the president noted that Ethiopia is an important partner of Russia. “The official visit of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to Russia in July was effective and productive.”
