“It is up to us to aid the affected people, victims of the bus accident. Instructions have been given to the pertinent agencies to assist this emergency,” the president posted on X.
On X, the head of State expressed that they are in solidarity and are committed to provide them with the necessary support in these difficult moments.
A report from Channel 8 television indicated that members of Honduras’ Armed Forces, the Fire Department, the Red Cross and the National Emergency System (911) helped several people at the accident’s scene. The Secretary of Security Gustavo Sanchez, informed that over 50 police officers, patrol cars and ambulances of the National Police provided the necessary assistance to the injured in the accident and detailed that they are conducting the pertinent investigations on the incident.
According to information, the accident occurred when the driver of a Discovery bus, which was traveling to Tegucigalpa with 30 passengers on board, lost control of the vehicle and fell off a bridge.
