Through the social network account X of the unicameral legislative body, Lazo thanked the commitment of these workers, ‘committed every day to build works for the benefit of our population and the development of the country’.
On that platform, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero also sent congratulations to the men and women who are part of the construction sector in this Caribbean island.
Marrero called on them to celebrate this day with the commitment to continue contributing to the socioeconomic development of the country.
The Cuban Builder’s Day is celebrated every December 5, as proposed by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro in 1972.
The date pays homage to fighter Armanda Mestre, one of the assailants of the Moncada´s Garrison, the 26 of July 1953, and he also was a member of the Granma yacht that brought Fidel and his companions to Cuba the 2nd of December 1956.
