At the meeting with solidarity friends with Cuba in Azerbaijan, Havana’s Ambassador to Baku, Carlos Valdés, stated that the Commander-in-Chief currently lives more than ever in the thoughts and actions of every Cuban patriot, the people, and countless friends of all humanity.
Valdés recalled that the ashes of Fidel were buried at the Santa Ifigenia cemetery in Santiago de Cuba city on December 4, 2016, after having traveled for four days along the island, in a solemn caravan accompanied by his people.
Those attending the evening reaffirmed their commitment to the life and work of Fidel Castro. Devoted to his legacy, several samples of Azerbaijani art, including literature, painting, and sculpture were exhibited.
A significant moment was the tribute to Azeri artist Arif Huseynov, President of the Azerbaijan-Cuba Friendship Association, who personally received a letter, on the occasion of his 80th birthday, sent by the President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), Fernando Gonzalez,
