As usual, the event will be held in eastern Gibara, Cuban city to which it owes its name, and films of any nationality, presented in their original language and with Spanish subtitles, having been completed in dates from 2022 to nowadays, according to a press release issued by the ICAIC.
According to the press release, the competition will be held in the categories of Fiction Feature Film, Fiction Short Film, Documentary Feature Film, Documentary Short Film and Animation and Experimental Audiovisual.
The contesting works will compete for the Lucia Awards in the different categories, as well as for other prizes and collateral mentions.
The jury in each category will be made up of renowned national and international figures from cinema, audiovisual and the arts in general. Their decision, after evaluating the films, will be final.
The deadline for entries will open on January 15, 2024, by enabling a registration page on the event’s website: www.ficgibara.icaic.cu.
Likewise, the registration of proposals must be made before April 15, 2024, when the call for proposals will close.
