In this context, the Cuban leader met with Ding Xuexiang, special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the G77+China Summit, to whom he reiterated Cuba’s willingness to continue strengthening close ties of friendship and cooperation.
Diaz-Canel further held a meeting with Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali with whom he agreed on the willingness to deepen the historic bilateral relations and discussed possibilities of mutual cooperation in different areas including health, education and agriculture.
Likewise, he met with Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal with whom he confirmed the good state of bilateral relations and debated on common challenges faced by developing countries, including those derived from climate change.
Diaz-Canel spoke on Friday at the World Summit on Climate Action as part of the Conference of the Parties of the COP28, and expressed that peace is necessary to save the planet, as well as the need to take immediate actions to that end.
