The head of the MNA Museum Unit, Jackeline Rojas, issued statements to Prensa Latina saying that the event, which was inaugurated on November 24th, was focused this year on the themes of Women, Creations and Representations.
“The fundamental objective of this cultural event is to share knowledge and debate about the presence of women in photography, pictorial work, cinema and literature,” Rojas explained, adding that indigenous and city women, and women in Bolivian history in general are also a fundamental part of the analysis, to nourish current generations and strengthen knowledge about them as creators.
Among the topics that stood out were the representations and images of indigenous women in the history of Bolivia (photography and audiovisuals), when and how did indigenous women appear in images and when and how were they recorded in cinema, when are representations of women planned in pictorial creations, whether they are from the East or the Andean zone, and which artists are pioneers in this manifestation, Rojas reported.
MNA sources told Prensa Latina that the participation of young researchers and female artists was extensive, and they shared their vision and analysis on everything that drives to create and reflect.
