Mexican President celebrates pay rise and airport inauguration

Mexico City, Dec 1 (Prensa Latina) President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) celebrated Friday his fifth year in office with the inauguration of the Tulum International Airport and a minimum wage rise of 20 percent.

During his morning press briefing at the National Palace with Generals, Defense Secretary Luis Cresencio Sandoval and Group of Engineers Commander Gustavo Ricardo Vallejo, López Obrador said he made both announcements because this information reached many regions worldwide.

The two generals gave details about the new Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport, which will open Tulum’s tourist area to the world. The president himself will inaugurate the air terminal this Friday afternoon.

The other information was the minimum wage rise by 20 percent, which AMLO described as essential, thanks to the labor and business sectors, as there was an agreement on the matter.

López Obrador stated that inaugurating the International Airport in Tulum and raising the minimum wage is the best way to celebrate the five years of Government this December 1.
