On behalf of President Nicolas Maduro, Foreign Minister Yvan Gil sent his ‘sincere congratulations’ on the anniversary to the Barbadian people and Government on the anniversary, ob his X account.
He also praised the country’s second anniversary of ‘its rebirth as a Republic after separating from the British monarchy.’
The head of Venezuelan diplomacy pointed out that ‘we have held an event together with Barbadian Ambassador to Venezuela Aquinas Clarke to strengthen our friendship and work for greater bilateral cooperation in 2024.’
On Wednesday, Deputy Foreign Minister for the Caribbean Raul Li Causi and the members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Caracas laid a wreath at the sarcophagus that holds the remains of Liberator Simon Bolivar in the National Pantheon.
Venezuela and Barbados maintain relations of respect, solidarity and cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Last July, Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Mottley arrived in Caracas on an official visit and signed two agreements and a joint declaration, which reaffirmed the two countries’ will to continue strengthening relations.
