The exhibition, by plastic artist Mariali, is part of a series of initiatives to celebrate the life and example of the former president of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo association, and can be visited at the organization’s headquarters in Buenos Aires.
In addition, the book Hebe y la fábrica de sombreros (Hebe and the Hat Factory), by poet, journalist and sociologist Demetrio Iramain, will be launched on December 4, on her 95th birthday.
On December 5, a documentary that narrates the process of creating a painting in honor of the human rights defender, made by Jorge López using dirt from Plaza de Mayo, will be screened.
De Bonafini, who became known due to her denunciations of the horrors perpetrated by the regime established from 1976 to 1983, passed away on November 20, 2022.
Her ashes were placed in the square where she went for more than four decades to demand justice for more than 30,000 detainees, who were reported missing, tortured and murdered during the dictatorship.
