Celac-5-768x511
Kingstown, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) St. Vincent and the Grenadines is hosting today the 45th meeting of national coordinators of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), in its capacity as president pro tempore of the regional integration organization.

The delegates to the meeting, held at the Global Campus of the University of the West Indies in this capital, seek to advance in the process of formulating a declaration of the bloc for the Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in 2024.

According to the local media St. Vincent Times, the text will be perfected in the coming weeks and will be submitted to the foreign ministers of the member countries for review and approval before being presented to the leaders.

The authorities expect the declaration to include decisions or proposals aimed at further strengthening unity and socio-economic development among the members of the organization.

Celac, made up of 33 countries, was constituted in Venezuela in 2011, under the principles of dialogue and political agreement, and as an articulating mechanism to work at all times on the basis of consensus and the defense of peace.
