In a collaboration with the Havana-based Ernesto Che Guevara Study Center, the voice of the Cuban woman, internationalist and revolutionary will reach Arab and Latin American viewers through the TV screen, websites and social networks. Before the Al Mayadeen group, Lebanese, Palestinian and Egyptian political leaders, Aleida, the daughter of the heroic guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, and the president of the Board of Directors of the multiplatform, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, announced the media and strategic project.
Aleida Guevara knows that since its beginning, Al Mayadeen has announced that it is part of the Global South, and that Latin America is an essential pillar due to its history of struggle, the multiplatform executive emphasized.
At the presentation, the prominent communicator expressed the network’s honor by offering international public opinion a space hosted by Aleida Guevara, which will contain comments and personal anecdotes in its first 54-episode season
According to Ben Jeddou, Aleida Guevara will address people heart to heart, in a simple and sincere way, to refer to the past in a language of the present, for the sake of the future.
For the prestigious journalist, Al Mayadeen is also interested in tightening bilateral cooperation with the Ernesto Che Guevara Study Center on a bilateral level.
He reaffirmed his commitment to Aleida, her family and the Center, devoted to promoting the study, work and life of the Argentine-Cuban fighter.
In this line of thought, he noted the Cuban doctor’s relationship with Al Mayadeen since its beginning, protected by the network’s respect for the symbols of the revolutionary struggle and internationalist resistance.
With humility and faithful to the principles of the Cuban Revolution, Aleida Guevara thanked the pan-Arab television station for the opportunity to keep her father’s legacy alive.
“What I like is to be able to tell something more about my father’s life for everyone, and if with this program many more people come to know Che, it will be something wonderful for me,” she said.
On the occasion, Cuban Ambassador Jorge León underscored the possibility of carrying Che Guevara’s revolutionary work with this project. He underscored the friendship and brotherhood between Al Mayadeen and the Cuban people.
Those present evoked Che’s example and significance for defenders of just causes worldwide.
