Rome, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) The Italian government today emphasized its willingness to maintain humanitarian aid to Palestinian victims of the Israeli bombings against the Gaza Strip, and announced the dispatch of doctors to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for that purpose.

According to a statement released Thursday on the official website of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the participation of Italian pediatricians in the care of the numerous Palestinian children patients transferred to the Arab nation in recent days was coordinated with the UAE authorities.

The first team of specialists, from the Gaslini Hospital in Genoa and the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome, will arrive this afternoon in the Emirate city of Dubai on the same flight as the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, to take part in the 28th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP28), according to the note.

The document adds that Meloni ‘has followed the assistance to the civilian population of Gaza since the beginning of the conflict in collaboration with the countries of the region particularly involved’, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, and the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci.

On November 8, Crosetto announced the dispatch to the Gaza Strip of a ship equipped with a hospital to assist Palestinian victims of Israeli bombardment, and this Thursday it was announced that it will dock on December 3 at the port of Al Arish in Egypt to provide assistance to minors wounded in Gaza.
