The Presidency of the group assumed by Cuba is receiving the reports of the analysis carried out during the 59th Session of the Subsidiary Bodies for Scientific and Technological Advice and the Subsidiary Body for Execution, among other meetings with a view to the event.
The Press general director of communication and Image of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Juan Antonio Fernández, pointed out that this is a novel initiative.
Fernández added that the event, chaired by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, will allow the bloc to coordinate positions, agree on ideas, and present concrete proposals to assert the aspirations and demands of the southern countries, regarding the problems that occupy the summit.
The director of International Relations of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba, Ulises Fernández, informed the press that Cuba brings results, commitment, and willingness to contribute to the global effort in changing the way to face global challenges.
Fernández pointed out that Cuba has a robust public policy and government plans to confront climate change, as is the case of the Life Task that shows the good relationship between science and politics, and considered that this example is very valid due to the comprehensiveness of the effort and because it involves the entire society and sectors.
