Kim Yo-jong, deputy director of the Publicity and Information Department at Korea’s Workers’ Party (KWP) Central Committee, denounced that an open meeting of the Security Council was convened at the request of the United States to question the DPRK’s launch of a reconnaissance satellite.
I categorically deplore and reject that the Security Council, which should strictly abide by the objective and principles of the United Nations Charter, has been turned into a place where the sovereignty of independent States is flagrantly violated by Washington, and some subservient forces, where double standards are cynically applied and where injustice and coercion reign, Kim said.
The official pointed out that it once again became evident how inadequate, wrong, and poor the illogical insistence of some UN members on North Korea’s sovereign rights is.
If the United States seeks “peace through force,” we should be prepared for dialogue and confrontation, especially make stricter preparations for the latter. This is our unchangeable stand on Washington’s policy, Kim stressed.
