Cambodian Environment Minister Eang Sophalleth, who will head the Kingdom’s delegation to the G77+China Leaders’ Summit on climate change, and Cuban Ambassador Liurka Rodríguez agreed on this cooperation during a meeting.
The G77+China Leaders’ Summit will be held on December 2 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, in the context of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
Rodríguez thanked the Cambodian Government for supporting Cuba’s pro tempore presidency of the G77+China and stressed the importance that the member countries promote the group’s unity, share criteria, and agree on positions to meet current challenges.
Sophalleth, in turn, said that he would attend the Conference, and acknowledged Cuba’s contributions to training human resources in his country, noting that specialties within the agricultural sciences have contributed to strengthening the environment.
