The meeting between the leaders is scheduled for November 30th in the Oval Office of the White House. It is expected that the talks will focus on bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, climate and energy.

Both heads of state will address the development of the Lobito Corridor, which will link Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia, according to information provided by the communication offices of the Presidency of the two countries.

The parties have stated that the meeting confirms the common interest in working on a strategic partnership to address regional and global challenges.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Angola, Téte António, is already in Washington, where he must meet with the Undersecretary of State for African Affairs of the United States Department of State, Molly Phee.

According to a statement from the Angolan Foreign Ministry, the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries “have not yet reached the levels of excellence desired bilaterally”, this is why both nations are committed to deepening them, based on the principle of reciprocity and mutually advantageous opportunities.

The Angolan foreign ministry added in its pronunciations, that the meeting between the two presidents is one of the pillars of strengthening political and diplomatic ties between Luanda and Washington.
