Sanchez will have a very active participation in the COP28 Summit in which he will reiterate the Spanish ambition to push the Paris agreements to the maximum.
According to official sources, the head of the Executive will speak at the Global Climate Action Summit, the event that will mark the opening of COP28, together with numerous heads of state or government, ministers and senior government representatives and experts from international organizations.
Among the forums in which Sanchez intends to attend are the Adaptation and Mitigation agendas, according to sources.
He also wants to show Madrid’s unwavering support for the reform of the financial architecture in order to mobilize the necessary funds to make the transition a reality.
In his busy agenda, Sanchez expects to meet with the President of Brazil, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, current head of Mercosur, taking advantage of Spain’s status as the European Union’s (EU) six-month presidency and the prospect of an agreement between the two blocs.
