The working group was approved by 134 votes, in agreement with the Construye Movement (Builds Movement), which promoted Villavicencio’s candidacy for October’s extraordinary elections.
Construye described the decision as a significant step in the search for truth and justice.
However, the Parliament has not yet established the details about the composition of this occasional investigative commission.
Villavicencio was assassinated on August 9, 2023, while leaving a campaign rally in a school in northern Bogota.
