As part of a program organized by the Cuban Embassy in this country and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the dance music company, led by choreographer and dancer Leiván García, will present, through traditional and contemporary expressions, the show “La raíz y el Tiempo” (The Root and the Time) at the Lotus Temple in New Delhi.
The performance includes dances related to the Yoruba pantheon gods, Yemayá, Elegbá, and Ogún, besides son, boleros, rumbas, mambos, and casino.
Since the CFNC members arrived in India on November 20, they have performed in several artistic events, including the Tril Hills Ensemble Festival in Meghalaya, the 7th India International Folkloric Festival in Kolkata, and university centers in these territories.
The dance music company will close its performance on Thursday, at the Sanganeria Auditorium at the University of Delhi.
