The activity will be called Cannabis Cup, will take place on December 10, and is being promoted by the Alternative Holistic & Organic Co-operative Society and CannaSVG, the latter dedicated to the large-scale cultivation of the leaf for medicinal purposes.

The organizers explained to the local press that it would include competitions on the elaboration of marijuana-based products, an exhibition of articles with registered trademarks, and literature on the properties to combat different health problems.

They added that they hope the event will contribute to eliminating stigma, disseminate information about the therapeutic uses of the plant, and expand the market for marijuana-based preparations.
