The hearing took place at the People’s Provincial Court of Granma On November 21 and 22 to try the doctors for alleged criminal responsibility related to the medical care of a 23-year-old patient, who had suffered multiple traumas in a traffic accident in 2021.

The trial responds to a family complaint and was held after the corresponding investigations were carried out, which is why it reached the court now.

A press release from the General Directorate of Public Health in Granma explained that the professionals are free and have not been disqualified from their profession.

The text added that the criminal process is pending a ruling by the Provincial Court as a result of the evaluation of the evidence presented during the trial, which can be appealed by the parties before the Supreme People’s Court after being notified to the defendants.
