Bolivia inaugurates third Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Center

La Paz, Nov 28 (Prensa Latina) President Luis Arce will lead today in the Achumani area, south of La Paz, the inauguration of the third Center for Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy (CMNyR) of Bolivia, official sources confirmed to Prensa Latina.

The executive director of the Bolivian Nuclear Energy Agency (ABEN), Hortensia Jiménez, assured in previous statements to this news agency that this high-tech health complex would be operational before the end of the current year.

Jiménez recalled that after this opening the country will have three such institutions to fight oncological diseases.

The first CMNyR of Bolivia was inaugurated in the area of Parcoparta, in the city of El Alto, on March 6, 2022, in the presence of Arce and the vice-president, David Choquehuanca.

The dignitary was also present in September 2022 at the opening of the CMNyR of Santa Cruz, on the occasion of the 212th anniversary of the liberation of that department.

Jiménez explained that the centers in La Paz, El Alto and Santa Cruz are equal and have the same capacity in terms of attention, for which this network of sanatoriums has specialized Bolivian professionals.
