Albares met here Monday with his Palestinian counterpart, Riyad al-Maliki, to whom he ratified Spain’s support for the PNA in a meeting in the context of the eighth Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM).

During the opening here of the Regional Forum for the Mediterranean, the diplomat claimed the effective return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza instead of Hamas.

‘The PNA is our only possible partner for peace’, he stressed, while underlining the need to ‘materialize once and for all the two-state solution, with the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside the State of Israel’.

Hamas cannot be the one to lead Gaza, because it does not have an agenda of coexistence in peace and ‘cannot have a role in the future in the implementation of the two-state solution, the Spanish head of state said.

España ratifica apoyo a Autoridad Palestina

Barcelona, 27 nov (Prensa Latina) La Autoridad Nacional Palestina (ANP) fue destacada hoy como “voz esencial” en torno a la paz y el futuro de Gaza, según el canciller español, José Manuel Albares.

Cuerpo : Albares se reunió este lunes aquí con su homólogo palestino, Riyad al-Maliki, a quien le ratificó el espaldarazo de España a la ANP en un encuentro en el contexto del octavo Foro Regional de la Unión por el Mediterráneo (UpM).

En rueda de prensa, el jefe de la diplomacia de Madrid y Riyad al-Maliki coincidieron en defender una solución pacífica al conflicto entre Israel y Palestina.

Maliki manifestó su deseo de que el alto al fuego se extienda tanto tiempo como sea posible, para que no siga la matanza de palestinos inocentes, y afirmó que tanto Qatar, Estados Unidos, Egipto, la Unión Europea (UE) y la ANP están trabajando en ello.

‘Tenemos una oportunidad hoy, de extender esa tregua, tenemos que ver cómo podemos imponer la presión necesaria al gobierno israelí para que no vuelva a matar a gente inocente y nosotros sigamos contando cadáveres’, apostilló.

Aprovechó la ocasión para agradecer las muestras de apoyo de la población española a la causa palestina, y la postura en favor de la justicia y la paz del Gobierno de España encabezados por Pedro Sánchez, quien visitó la región la pasada semana.

‘La ANP es nuestro único socio posible para la paz’, recalcó, al tiempo que subrayó la necesidad de ‘materializar de una vez por todas la solución de dos Estados, con el establecimiento de un Estado palestino junto al Estado de Israel’.

Hamás no puede ser quien lidere Gaza, porque no tiene una agenda de coexistencia en paz y ‘no puede tener un papel en el futuro en la implementación de la solución de dos Estados, sentenció el titular español.
