The Sierra Leonean President Julius Madda Bio, who decreed a 24-hour curfew, assured that “most of the leaders of the attacks on the main military bases and prisons have been arrested” and he eased the restrictions on the movement of the population.
An undetermined number of people were kidnapped or released from police custody and both the identity and the intentions of the assailants remain in the shadows.
The only certainty is that an Army spokesman reported that retired and active Army personnel are wanted.
For President Madda Bio the attempt is his second litmus test since the August elections in which he was elected were complex and were held against the turbulent backdrop of protests in parts of the capital and the north of the country.
