Jamaica is concerned about human cost in Israel-Palestine conflict

Kingston, Nov 27 (Prensa Latina) Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness expressed concern about the growing human cost in the Israel-Palestine conflict, and welcomed the current truce in hostilities.

In statements quoted on Monday by the Jamaica Observer newspaper, Holness urged all parties to seek a permanent solution.

This can only be achieved through a negotiated two-State solution that will allow Palestinians and Israelis to live in security, peace and dignity.

During the public session of the 80th annual conference of the Labor Party, the leader of that political organization reiterated that Jamaica is consistent in its support for universal respect for and adherence to the principles of international law and territorial integrity and sovereignty of nations.

We condemn all forms of terrorism and support the countries’ right to defend themselves and their security while preserving the rights of innocent civilians to live in peace and dignity, he affirmed.
