The Ministry stated that they are monitoring and taking samples of the dead animals while biologists, veterinarians, and other technicians of the institution will work on the final disposal of the birds.
It announced in a press release that the inter-institutional working tables were established to address the situation, with the participation of the Ministry of Health, Agro-quality, municipal authorities, and prefectures, among other institutions.
On November 11, the disease’s outbreaks were also detected in El Morro Mangrove Wildlife Refuge, Guayas and Tungurahua provinces, and the Galapagos Islands.
This Monday, the Ministry of Environment reported that 6,000 seabirds were found dead in the area of the El Morro Wildlife Refuge, mainly of the frigate bird colonies.
