Cuba’s prima ballerina assoluta, with an extensive and brilliant career until her physical disappearance in 2019, will have another chapter of memories with the presentation of a new book by Mayda Bustamante.
Publisher, dance critic, essayist and cultural promoter, Bustamante will launch her title “Alicia Alonso. Giselle: el instante eterno”, accompanied by writer and director of Cuba’s National Museum of Dance, Pedro Simón, and journalist and researcher José Ramón Neyra.
During the evening, the audiovisual “Alicia Alonso, siempre Giselle”, the exhibition “Alicia Alonso: para que Giselle no muera”, and the premiere of a song created on the poem “Es la magia que enamora” by Santiago Castelo, composed and performed by Liuba María Hevia, will also be premiered.
