New Delhi, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) A representation of the Cuban National Folkloric Ensemble (CFNC) delighted the audience at the inauguration of the "Tril Hills Ensemble" Festival in the Indian state of Meghalaya, it was reportedly stated.

Led by choreographer Leiván García, the group gave a performance based on one of the island’s traditional dances, the mambo, declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, according to diplomatic sources.

The CNFC will also participate in the VII International Folk Festival of India, which began the day before in Calcutta with the presentation of the Bong Sen Ethnic Music and Dance Theatre of Vietnam and will continue this Saturday with the Russian group Severnye Zory.

With the music and dance show The Root and Time, the Cuban dance music group will close tomorrow, Sunday, the festival organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), after the presentation of Mulualem Cultural Center of Ethiopia, according to the program.

Their proposal covers traditional to contemporary expressions such as the Lucumí tradition and dances referring to the gods of the Yoruba pantheon Yemayá, Elegbá, Ogún, as well as son, boleros, rumbas, mambos and casino.

The group will also perform on November 29 in New Delhi in a program organized by the Caribbean nation’s embassy in India.
