The commemoration began with the words of the ambassador of the Caribbean nation in Moscow, Julio Garmendía, who recalled the imprint of the Commander in Chief in each of the most important sectors of the country.
The diplomat said Fidel Castro was the architect and guide of the country’s diplomatic work from the first years of the triumph of the revolution, just as he spoke of the simplicity and modesty that always characterized the revolutionary leader.
Later, an exhibition of paintings and photographs was inaugurated with the image of Fidel, seen through the lens and brushes of friends of Cuba in Russia, and the youngest people recited poems dedicated to the tireless fighter for human dignity.
Likewise, diplomats, officials, and workers of the different Cuban state missions in the Russian Federation appreciated a documentary with passages from the life of the Commander in Chief at different moments of the revolutionary process.
