A new group of Russian evacuees from Gaza arrives in Moscow

Moscow, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) A plane carrying a new group of Russian citizens, evacuated from the Gaza Strip, arrived at the capital's Domodedovo Airport on Friday, the Emergencies Ministry informed.

The state institution told Sputnik this was the seventh evacuation flight from Cairo. The plane landed with 103 passengers on board, including 47 children, bringing to 656 the number of citizens repatriated to Russia.

The Ministry of Emergencies also announced that an estimated 750 Russian citizens and family members have left the Gaza Strip, through the Rafah crossing, on Egypt’s border.

Since October 9, Israel has kept the Palestinian enclave deprived of basic supplies, although it resumed water supplies, on October 16, to southern Gaza, where hundreds of thousands of civilians were displaced.

Many countries have called on Israel and Hamas to cease hostilities to reach a ceasefire and support a two-State solution as the only way to achieve lasting peace in the region.

Since hostilities started, some 1,200 Israelis have been killed, and nearly 5,500 have been wounded. In Palestine, more than 14,500 people have died, and some 35,000 were injured in the Gaza Strip, according to official figures.
