Luanda, Nov 23 (Prensa Latina) Angolan President João Lourenço met on Thursday with his counterparts from Ethiopia, Sahle-Work Zewde, and Cape Verde, Jose Maria Neves, who participated in the Pan-African Forum on Culture of Peace and Non-Violence.

The Angolan head of State spoke with the Ethiopian leader in his office at the Presidential Palace, where they reviewed the state of bilateral relations, Zewde told local media at the end of the meeting.

She said that both nations have historical ties forged in the national liberation processes and added that both sides continue to expand their relations.

At the meeting, they discussed matters of common interest and about the African continent, said Zewde.

Lourenço also spoke with his Cape Verdean counterpart, with whom he discussed the relations of fraternity and cooperation that unite the two peoples.

In statements to local media, Neves noted that peace in Africa and the need to cooperate to preserve it were on the table, as an indispensable condition to transform the continent.

He expressed the hope that the elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo would go well in December, and that democracy and institutions would be strengthened.

At the bilateral level, he highlighted the prospects for cooperation in transportation and tourism, in addition to the actions currently being taken in banking, fuels and communications.
