Workers’ movement to increase food production in Cuba

Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, Nov 22 (Prensa Latina) The general secretary of the Cuban Workers' Confederation (CTC), Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, on Wednesday acknowledged the work of the workers' movement in Sancti Spíritus, and said that the country needs to increase production.

The top union leader, together with Deivy Pérez, first secretary in the territory, both members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, presided over the CTC Provincial Plenary Session.

Among the topics discussed on Tuesday, Sancti Spíritus’s need to increase food production in order to satisfy the needs from the population was analyzed.

In this regard, Guilarte de Nacimiento ratified the importance of increasing productive levels as a way to make money and for salaries to have a real value in the economy.

With this objective in mind, he urged the unions to work together with the administrations to activate all resources in terms of agricultural production.
