Lebanon files complaint at UN for Israeli crimes

Beirut, Nov 22 (Prensa Latina) Lebanon filed a complaint before the United Nations Security Council for the Israeli crimes against journalists of the pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Lebanese State condemned Israel’s genocidal action after directly attacking correspondent Farah Omar, photographer Rabih Al-Maamari and his collaborator Hussein Aquil, while they were covering events in the south of the country.

In the text, the Foreign Ministry included evidence that Tel Aviv forces committed this crime inside Lebanese territory and at a great distance from the Blue Line on the border with occupied Palestine.

At the same time, he stressed that the Israeli crime represents an attack against civilians and journalists while carrying out their noble communication mission and in accordance with professional standards.

In this context, he stressed that the act represents a flagrant violation of international law in all its ramifications and of Lebanon’s sovereignty.

He also stated that the Israeli entity follows a criminal approach in targeting and murdering journalists in an attempt to prevent the media from broadcasting the image of its genocide.

In the face of the murder of members of the Al Mayadeen press team, Lebanon renewed its demand that the Security Council assume its responsibilities.

During the tribute to the Pan-Arab network professionals, personalities, political parties, political leaders and the media condemned the brutal attack and agreed that such aggressions are evidence of the hysteria to silence the voices of truth.
