The meeting between the two diplomats took place during Mira’s visit to Havana, where she is participating in the 8th Session of the Inter-Ministerial Political Consultations, Rodriguez wrote on his X account.
The Cuban foreign minister addressed issues of the bilateral agenda and reaffirmed to his Salvadoran counterpart the willingness to strengthen relations in areas of mutual interest, he wrote on X.
The two countries reestablished diplomatic relations in 2009. Since then, they have cooperated in education, health care, agriculture, and social programs.
In April, El Salvador and Cuba signed a Memorandum of Understanding on health care to train Salvadoran professionals and contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
