According to a press release from the Russian state institution published on Telegram, the plane took off from Makhachkala Airport for Egyptian al-Arish Airport, where the cargo will be handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society so it can be sent to the Gazans.
This aid flight to Gaza is the sixth sent by the Russian authorities.
Just three days ago, another Russian plane landed with 30 other tons of supplies, including mattresses, pillows, food, personal hygiene products, and baby food that were sent to the Gaz strip enclave.
Since October 9, Israel has kept the Palestinian enclave deprived of basic supplies, forcing hundreds of thousands of civilians to move to the territory’s southern region, where, over the last few days, international humanitarian aid has been trickling in through the Rafah crossing on Egypt’s border.
