The event will host a varied program of activities starting at 09:30 to 10:15 local time with a Yoruba dance workshop.
After this activity, a casino dance workshop will be held until 13:30 local time.
Until November 24, and with a tribute to the creator of the cha cha chá, Enrique Jorrín, several Cuban groups will meet, such as Pacho Alonso, Cristian y Rey, Yumurí y sus Hermanos, as well as Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco.
According to the organizing committee, this popular event is an opportunity to enhance the genre, which has been declared Cuban Cultural Heritage.
The World Meeting of Casino and Salsa Dancers and Dance Academies is sponsored by the Paradiso Cultural Tourism Agency and organized by the agencies Clave Cubana, Musicalia, Comercial Lauros, Soy Cubano and the record label Bis Music, which belong to ARTex, Promociones Artísticas y Literarias.
Once again Havana, designated as a UNESCO Creative City in the category of music, will serve as a stage for dancers of Cuban rhythms, coming from various latitudes, to achieve their dream through dancing in Cuba and, at the same time, become promoters of the Caribbean island’s identity.
