Venezuelan President regretted the death of Rosalynn Carter

Caracas, Nov 20 (Prensa Latina) President Nicolás Maduro, on behalf of the people and government of Venezuela, regretted today the death of former U.S. First Lady Rosalynn Carter, a loss he considered sensitive.

In a statement, the Venezuelan leader expressed “his most sincere condolences to former President Jimmy Carter, his family, friends and all the US people.

From Venezuela we recognize that, in addition to having always been a strong supporter of former President Carter in his administration, “Mrs. Rosalynn Carter played a key role in the founding of the Carter Center,” he said.

He also noted that she was a tireless fighter for the improvement of policies to address mental health and the elimination of diseases such as onchocerciasis. We trust that her family and collaborators will find the strength to continue to support the important causes to which she devoted her life, the note said.

Rosalynn passed away the day before at the age of 96 at her residence in Plains, Georgia, United States.
