At the meeting, Vázquez reiterated the solidarity from the Cuban Government and people with that nation and the repudiation of the genocide being committed by Israel, diplomatic sources reported.
Issues related to the current situation of the conflict were discussed, as well as Cuba’s traditional stance in support of the Palestinian people’s right to have their own free and independent State.
Vázquez referred to the Cuban Government’s statements and interventions at international forums on the subject.
The diplomat highlighted the recent meeting between President Miguel Díaz-Canel and more than 100 Palestinian students in Cuba, at which he reiterated Cuba’s principled position in favor of a broad, fair and lasting solution to the conflict, on the basis of the creation of two States.
The Palestinian diplomat, in turn, noted the permanent support of the Cuban Revolution for the just cause of Palestine.
