The organization criticized “Israeli criminal practices against the Palestinian people” in a statement on the occasion of the celebration of International Children’s Day.
“The violence inflicted against the inhabitants of the occupied territories attempts to end their existence and their future,” the Arab League stressed. It also highlighted that “Palestinian children and young people have the right to live a safe and peaceful life, away from fear of forced displacement and of all forms of violence.”
“We call on the international community to assume its responsibilities regarding the protection of Palestinian children in the Strip,” the Arab League claimed.
The Palestinian Ministry of Education spoke out similarly when denouncing the death of more than five thousand minors in the Gaza Strip, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7th.
The Ministry indicated that “the murder scenes of children and schoolchildren in the Strip exceed all norms and conventions”. Over three thousand of the total of those deaths were students of various levels of education.
According to official figures, over 12,200 Palestinians have lost their lives in that territory since the beginning of the new cycle of violence, including 5,000 minors, 3,250 women and 690 elderly people, while the number of injured exceeds 29,500. More than four thousand citizens are still missing under the rubble, among them about two thousand minors.
