According to Safadi, Israel is taking 2.3 million Palestinians hostage by denying them food and water as part of this war.
The Jordanian foreign minister called for the release of hostages, but did not link that to the humanitarian pauses.
The diplomat said the war must stop immediately because civilians have the right to protection.
According to Safadi, 1.65 million citizens in Gaza have been displaced.
He stressed, “Israel is saying to the Palestinians, We will not kill you in the north, we will kill you in the south.”
Safadi recalled that the Kingdom of Jordan has been warning for years about the absence of a political horizon, asserting that nothing can justify the Israeli forces’ brutality.
The head of Jordanian diplomacy stressed that the only way to guarantee peace is to stop the destruction of Gaza, end the occupation, and allow the Palestinians to live without fear.
In his remarks, he refused to accuse Jerusalem’s Armenian quarter of being a Hamas movement hideout and condemned the settlers’ threats to destroy it with police complicity.
Incidentally, the minister noted, “This is not self-defense but blatant aggression by Israel.”
